Hey folks! So, I get messaged a lot on Instagram by people planning trips to Austin and wanting to know what I recommend for their stay. I figured it was about time I created a quick guide for my own city with some of my top recommendations for things to do, where to eat, where to stay, etc. I mean, what city do I know better than the one I’ve lived in my whole life? So without further ado, here’s my quick guide to Austin, Texas!
Fall has officially arrived in Austin, and with it the weather has cooled down, making it the perfect temperature for some of Austin’s best nature trails. Whether you’re looking for a short walk with a good view or a more challenging hike, Austin has lots of great options for being outdoors. I’ve partnered with HI-TEC to show you some of my favorite spots for hiking around Austin, taking my HI-TEC V-Lite WildFire Low hiking boots and their new outdoor crossover apparel out with me. Austin has so many great Instagram spots, especially all of the amazing street art you can find around downtown. Some of the most famous murals in Austin include the I Love So Much wall on South Congress, the Austin postcard, and You’re My Butter Half on the East side, but there are plenty of other Instagrammable murals you can find too. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to host an Austin, Texas Instameet with other local bloggers and Chase Sapphire in celebration of their new Sapphire Six Guide to Austin. The Sapphire Six Guide takes cues from where Sapphire Reserve cardmembers are visiting, grabbing a bite, enjoying a drink or just having fun to determine what the top places to visit in Austin are. For the Instameet, our goal was to work our way down South Congress, hitting up some of the most Instagrammable spots and finishing at Cafe No Se (one of the recommended restaurants on the Sapphire Six Guide). It was so much fun to get out and be a tourist in my city with other local bloggers! I don’t get to go out and explore my hometown nearly as much as I’d like to, so I loved having this opportunity to experience SoCo, which I consider to be one of the best things to do in Austin, for locals and tourists alike. South Congress definitely has some of the best Instagram worthy spots in Austin. Without further ado, here’s 7 photo spots to visit on South Congress!
A little while back, I had the pleasure of spending a night at the Archer Hotel Austin at Domain Northside. The boutique hotel has eight floors with 171 rooms described as “rustic luxe” style, including several unique suites like the Archer Den that I stayed in. Some rooms of note have standout features such as private balconies and free-standing tubs. For dining, there is one restaurant on property, Second Bar + Kitchen, run by award-winning Chef David Bull.
