Cruising on the Largest Ship in the World – Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas

It’s always special to get to be amongst the first people to experience a new cruise ship on an inaugural sailing, and doing so for Wonder of the Seas, the biggest ship in the world, feels especially magical. We tried to explore her as much as possible during our 7-day Caribbean voyage, but what can I say – she’s so big, you just can’t possibly experience it all in one trip! Here’s my take on Royal Caribbean’s newest addition to its fleet.

10 Things You Have To Do in Southeast Alaska

Southeast Alaska is an absolutely stunning place to visit. Each town there has something different to offer, from wildlife viewing to glaciers to seafood feasts and more. Some of the most visited destinations in the region include Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, Haines, Wrangell, and Sitka, just to name a few. While most people choose to cruise Southeast Alaska (which is a fantastic way to see it all), you can also totally see it by flights and ferries! You can fly into a destination like Juneau, and from there either take short flights to other nearby towns (I fly to Ketchikan and Wrangell, for example) or try the Alaska Marine Highway aka the ferry system, which is how I got to Haines. It’s all dependent on how you want to see the area (ferries take longer but are more scenic by far), and how much time you have to explore!

Cruise Review: Onboard the Norwegian Encore

Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest Breakaway Plus class cruise ship is here, and it’s a beauty! I just spent 3 days cruising from Miami to the Bahamas on the Norwegian Encore’s inaugural sail, and it was a whole lot of fun. Between the above-deck go kart track The Speedway, lots of fine dining options, and a Broadway musical onboard, there’s a bit of something for everyone! Here’s everything you need to know about the Norwegian Encore.

Cruise Review: 11-Day New England & Canada on the Seabourn Quest

For this adventure, we boarded the Seabourn Quest in Boston, Massachusetts, where we set a course for Montreal, Canada and an 11-day journey to get there. Our trip took us through ports across the East Coast of the U.S. and Canada, including Provincetown (Massachusetts), Bar Harbor (Maine), Halifax, Prince Edward Island, Cap-aux-Meules, Saguenay, and Québec City. Depending on the weather and your luck, you may even get some fall foliage on this itinerary! The 11-Day New England & Canada cruise on the Seabourn Quest is a great way to experience this area of both countries while traveling in luxury.

Cruise Review: Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas

The Navigator of the Seas was amplified in early 2019 to the tune of $115 million, and I got to be one of the first to experience the new additions and reimagining of the ship! Some changes include the first blow dry bar at sea, To Dry For, a new Caribbean poolscape, new and improved dining and nightlife options, and more. For our sailing, the itinerary was a 5-day trip roundtrip to-and-from Miami via the Bahamas and Haiti (at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Labadee), with two full days at sea. One of the nice things about being on a larger ship like the Navigator of the Seas is that there was always plenty to do during the sea days, so we were never bored (but more about that later)! You can find future sailing dates for the Navigator of the Seas and additional info about the ship here. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about the new-and-improved Navigator of the Seas!

Cruise Review: Everything You Need To Know About The Celebrity Summit

Welcome to the Celebrity Revolution! Celebrity Cruises is spending $500 million dollars on a fleet-wide modernization to give the whole cruise line elements of their newest ships, the Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Flora (the latter will be debuting in the Galapagos in May 2019). The Revolution started with the introduction of the Celebrity Edge, a state-of-the-art new ship at the forefront of modern luxury cruising, and continued with the renovation of the Celebrity Millennium. Now, the Celebrity Summit is the second ship to be modernized in the fleet, and finished its refurbishment in March 2019. I was lucky enough to be one of the first to sail on the new and improved Celebrity Summit and see first-hand how Celebrity Cruises has brought the Summit to the “Edge”, so to speak.

Transatlantic Cruising on the Cunard Queen Mary 2

Just the mere mention of the Queen Mary 2 conjures up images of voyages of old, transatlantic cruising on majestic ocean liners fit for royalty. The utter romance of sipping decadent cocktails on the veranda deck, strolling the promenade in the evening breeze, and dancing the night away to a string orchestra. You know, the fancy parts of the movie Titanic that made you dream of luxury cruising! For seven days in January those dreams became reality as I boarded the legendary Queen Mary 2 in the port of Brooklyn, New York and set sail for Southampton, England.
