I recently had the chance to explore Jacksonville, Florida for a few days on a fun group press trip itinerary, hitting up the beaches and spots like Kingsley Plantation and the Cummer Museum. Cruise Review: Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas

The Navigator of the Seas was amplified in early 2019 to the tune of $115 million, and I got to be one of the first to experience the new additions and reimagining of the ship! Some changes include the first blow dry bar at sea, To Dry For, a new Caribbean poolscape, new and improved dining and nightlife options, and more. For our sailing, the itinerary was a 5-day trip roundtrip to-and-from Miami via the Bahamas and Haiti (at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Labadee), with two full days at sea. One of the nice things about being on a larger ship like the Navigator of the Seas is that there was always plenty to do during the sea days, so we were never bored (but more about that later)! The Quick Guide to Tempe, Arizona

The city of Tempe is just east of Phoenix, and has a population of just under 200,000 people. It’s home to Arizona State University, or ASU, which is one of the largest universities in the United States, so during the school year, Tempe is lively and packed with thousands of students. Because of this, Tempe has a vibrant nightlife scene, and plenty of fun things to do during the day too! It’s the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or girls’ trip, or just some me-time. Some top attractions include Tempe Town Lake, the various hiking trails in the area like Hayden Butte, and the delicious restaurants and dessert spots around town, like Ghost Ranch and The Crepe Bar. The Weekend Getaway Guide to Dallas & Fort Worth

I recently had the chance to experience a long weekend exploring the two cities of Dallas and Forth Worth with Travel Texas to see what they’re all about. There are so many fun things to do in either city, that it was hard to pick what to include in this guide! Major Fort Worth attractions include line dancing at Billy Bob’s and seeing the daily cattle drive at the Stockyards, while Dallas tourist attractions include the Margarita Mile and fun neighborhoods like Deep Ellum. Don’t forget you also have to try some authentic Texas BBQ while in DFW! Cruise Review: Everything You Need To Know About The Celebrity Summit

Welcome to the Celebrity Revolution! Celebrity Cruises is spending $500 million dollars on a fleet-wide modernization to give the whole cruise line elements of their newest ships, the Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Flora (the latter will be debuting in the Galapagos in May 2019). The Revolution started with the introduction of the Celebrity Edge, a state-of-the-art new ship at the forefront of modern luxury cruising, and continued with the renovation of the Celebrity Millennium. Now, the Celebrity Summit is the second ship to be modernized in the fleet, and finished its refurbishment in March 2019. I was lucky enough to be one of the first to sail on the new and improved Celebrity Summit and see first-hand how Celebrity Cruises has brought the Summit to the “Edge”, so to speak.

A Luxury Stay on the Big Island: Four Seasons Resort Hualalai

I’ve been lucky enough to visit the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai three times in the last few years, and I have to say, it’s quite possibly my favorite resort to visit on the planet. There’s no doubt it’s one of the best resorts in Hawaii, and it’s easy to see why. This 5 star property features everything from 7 pools and 5 restaurants to an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus designed golf course set on a volcanic landscape. For our trip, we left at the end of January, which is high season for the Big Island as people try to escape the cold. It’s also the perfect season for whale watching, and if you’re lucky, you can see them right from the beach at the resort. Leaving Austin for this January/February trip was the perfect way to escape the cold fronts that had rolled into Texas, and the weather in Hawaii was perfect. “Winter” on the Big Island tends to be in the 70s/80s with lows in the 60s, so while you’ll want to pack a sweater, it’s much more mild than most other destinations.

Transatlantic Cruising on the Cunard Queen Mary 2

Just the mere mention of the Queen Mary 2 conjures up images of voyages of old, transatlantic cruising on majestic ocean liners fit for royalty. The utter romance of sipping decadent cocktails on the veranda deck, strolling the promenade in the evening breeze, and dancing the night away to a string orchestra. You know, the fancy parts of the movie Titanic that made you dream of luxury cruising! For seven days in January those dreams became reality as I boarded the legendary Queen Mary 2 in the port of Brooklyn, New York and set sail for Southampton, England.
