I had the opportunity to host an Austin, Texas Instameet with other local bloggers and my friends at Chase Sapphire. For the Instameet, our goal was to work our way down South Congress, hitting up some of the most Instagrammable spots and finishing at Cafe No Se.
It was so much fun to get out and be a tourist in my city with other local bloggers! I don’t get to go out and explore my hometown nearly as much as I’d like to, so I loved having this opportunity to experience SoCo, which I consider to be one of the best things to do in Austin, for locals and tourists alike.
South Congress definitely has some of the best Instagram-worthy spots in Austin. Without further ado, here’s the best photo spots to visit on South Congress!
Table of Contents
Heritage Boots
One of the best place to get authentic western boots in town. And a cute storefront to pose in front of to boot!
Austin Motel
The “So Close Yet So Far Out” sign in front of the Austin Motel is a can’t-miss photo spot on South Congress. It’s one of the most iconic pictures in the whole city!
Jo’s Coffee
Stop at Jo’s Coffee for what is probably the most famous mural in all of Austin – “i love you so much”. And when you’re done, make sure to try their coffee too!
Guero’s Taco Bar
Personally one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in the city. Don’t miss their chips and queso while you’re there, either!
Home Slice Pizza
Home Slice might be a great place to get a slice of pizza on SoCo, but it’s also home to two great mural. On one side of the building is the Mr. Rogers “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” mural, while on the other side you can find the psychedelic “Willie For President” mural.

Big Top Candy Shop
This candy shop is great to shoot both inside and out. You can find several fun and colorful angles here to make your Instagram pop!
Cafe No Se
Lastly, Cafe No Se is the stuff of Instagram dreams. We ordered a huge spread including avocado toast and their famous cheeseburger. Just make sure to get a table outside so you can take a perfect flatlay in good lighting!
