One of my most frequently asked questions is about whether the glamping spots I visit around Texas are dog-friendly! So, I teamed up with my friends at Hipcamp to showcase a few of my favorite pet-friendly glamping spots near Austin. And if you’re new to Hipcamp, you can sign up here for $10 off your first stay!
One of my favorite things about Hipcamp is that they actually have a “pets allowed” filter you can apply while searching for camping and glamping spots on their site or app. Which makes it really easy to find pet-friendly glamping!

The Hobbit’s Nest
Is this the ultimate treehouse glamping spot in Texas? Located near Bastrop in Paige, Texas, The Hobbit’s Nest treehouse is a true escape into the woods. As you may have guessed, the property is Lord of the Rings themed, with lots of little decor pieces to bring The Shire to life.
And, best of all, they’re one of the most dog-friendly places you’ll ever find. In fact, the owners live nearby, and their two dogs wander the land and will probably come up to the treehouse to say hi!
There’s no wifi here, but there is a grill, toilet, shower, and small fridge, so I recommend cooking on-site and really disconnecting. Also, the sounds of nature are top tier here, especially with their “frog chorus” that you’ll hear from the beautiful lily pond that the treehouse overlooks.
Lucky Arrow Retreat
This trendy glamping retreat is located on the outskirts of Dripping Springs in the midst of the Texas Hill Country. Options here at Lucky Arrow Retreat (get $10 off Hipcamp for new users) include yurts, cabins, and porch houses, depending on your party size and what kind of experience you’re looking for. If you truly want to glamp, the yurts are the best choice for you, as pictured below.
Each fits up to two guests and has access to a shared bathhouse nearby. For something a little more hotel-like, there are the Courtyard Cabins, Breezeway Cabins, and Porch Houses, which each fit up to four guests and have their own bathrooms.
While this property is dog and cat-friendly, you do need to pay a $150 fee per pet, which you can do when you book at checkout on Hipcamp (which will also make sure they put you into one of the pet-friendly designated rooms).
FlopHouze Shipping Container Hotel
If you’ve ever wanted to sleep in a converted shipping container, then FlopHouze Shipping Container Hotel in Round Top, TX is what you’ve been looking for. Sit around the fire pit and enjoy some amazing stargazing, take a dip in their shipping container pool, and head to town for antique shopping galore.
If you’re really wanting a good time, then book your stay during the Round Top Antique Fair (just book early because people come from all over for it!). And yes, pets are allowed for free!
The Reserve at Greenleaf
Located near Bastrop, The Reserve at Greenleaf has four luxury yurts to choose from. If you’re bringing your pet though, their designated pet-friendly yurt is The Copper Lily (get $10 off Hipcamp for new users).
The yurt can house up to 4 guests and comes with amenities like a full-size private bathroom and access to miles of hiking trails. They even offer a guided hiking tour for an additional $25 at checkout. They also have things like kayak rentals available upon request!
Ranch 3232
Ranch 3232 offers unique Texas Hill Country lodging with cabin rentals, air-conditioned glamping tents, RV sites, camping sites, and even a gypsy wagon (get $10 off Hipcamp for new users). The property is also conveniently located in Johnson City only 1.5 miles from Pedernales Falls State Park, so it’s perfect if you’re looking to do some hikes and explore the state park during your stay.
My favorite is the Bird House, their little wagon room, though I’d only recommend it for a solo (+dog) stay. It’s pretty small! If you’re looking for something bigger though, the cabins are a great option. At the time of writing this, their glamping tents do not allow dogs.
It’s always best to check which rooms at each place do allow pets, as sometimes it’s not every room on the property and policies can change!
GLAT Austin
Located on Lake Bastrop, GLAT Austin has luxury safari-style glamping tents that sleep 3-6 guests, depending on which tent you pick (get $10 off Hipcamp for new users). They also have a few cabins that have their own private hot tubs, amongst other amenities like fire pits that every room on the property has.
Mystic Quarry
Mystic Quarry in Canyon Lake, TX is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to go tubing in the summer! Their accommodations range from tiny houses, tipis, glamping tents, and cabins to RV sites and tent sites (get $10 off Hipcamp for new users). You can lounge by the pool, go tubing in the nearby Guadalupe River, catch a concert at the Whitewater Amphitheater, or spend the day out on Canyon Lake.
If you filter by pets allowed, you’ll see that they have a bunch of different dog-friendly glamping options, like their safari lodges (my personal favorite), their premium tiny houses, and some of the cabins.
One of my favorite things about Mystic Quarry? They’re on 10 acres, with fun amenities like beach volleyball, lawn games, a communal swimming pool, walking trails, bocce courts, a dog pond and dog parks, and more. You can read more about their dog policy here.
